Flood Defences in Matlock

The Environment Agency has announced that the major flood defence wall in Matlock has now been completed. The project has required 200 cubic metres of concrete and eight tons of steel reinforcement. For more details of the project please follow link.

Note that the work carried out in Matlock was effective in preventing damage in Matlock, but further downstream (e.g. at the Hurt Arms at Ambergate and beyond) serious flooding did occur.
