Artists’ Corner Viewpoint

Matlock Civic Association has been campaigning for several years to have the classic viewpoint of the River Derwent and High Tor from Artists’ Corner opened up again by removal of the self-set tress and vegetation. Thanks to the persistence of our Secretary, permission has now been obtained for this clearance to take place and work should begin soon. Unfortunately, this is largely dependent on the weather as wet, slippery conditions on the bank make it unsafe. However we hope that it will proceed in the near future.
