Derwent Valley Cycleway

The AECOM feasibility study, commissioned by Derbyshire County Council, into a proposed 68 km cycleway between Shardlow, south east of Derby and Hathersage in the Derbyshire Dales is now complete. MCA’s submission to this included a proposal for a combined walking and cycling route on the east bank of the Derwent between Matlock and Matlock Bath, avoiding the traffic and pollution on the A6. The study identifies the preferred route options and high level cost estimates for construction, along with an assessment to help prioritise route sections for future delivery. However, it has not been made public.
